Clubs

We are pleased to offer our Calvert Elementary students the following after-school clubs this spring. Clubs will meet for 1-hour from 4:05 - 5:05 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) beginning April 16th for approximately six weeks. To register for a club, please pick up an enrollment form from the front office, and submit no later than April 11th. Clubs are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Spring Session After-School Clubs

DARE Club — Keepin' It REAL (Grade 5)
Sponsors: Mrs. Gattens & Mrs. Jenkins

This club supports students social/emotional development with a focus on self-awareness and management, responsible decision making, understanding others, relationship and communication skills, and handling responsibilities and challenges. Students will start with the basics of responsibility and decision making, then develop their own responses to real life situations. This club meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Fee: None


No Bake Cooking Club (Grades K - 2)
Sponsors: Mrs. Gray & Mrs. Cross

Make, take & EAT! Students will explore kitchen tools and prepare snacks and sweet treats. This club meets on Wednesdays. Fee: $20 (includes material fee)


American Sign Language Club (Grades 3 - 5)
Sponsors: Mrs. Dalton & Mrs. Francis

Students will learn the basics of American Sign Language, i.e. the manual alphabet, and signs you know that you didn't know you knew! This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: $15


Photography Club (Grades 2 - 5)
Sponsor: Mr. Woznick (parent volunteer)

Students will learn the technical aspects of photography, take actual photos, and develop/create a portfolio and group project. This club meets on Mondays. Fee: $20 (includes material fee)


Art Club (Grades 4 - 5)
Sponsor: Mrs. Adams

Students will explore a variety of mediums to create art projects. This club meets on Tuesdays. Fee: $27 (includes material fee)


LEGO Robotics (Grades 3 - 4)
Sponsor: Ms. Farnese

This club is to introduce LEGO robotics for students who will be 4th or 5th graders next school year, and may be interested in joining the team. Fee: $15

Please note: This club meets on Fridays from 7:30 - 8:35 a.m.


CES Girls' Club (Grades 4 - 5)
Sponsor: Mrs. Bagdovitz

This club will introduce women from assorted careers and educational levels to the girls. We will have discussions on what education and activities are needed for the girls' interest. There will also be a focus on behavior, manners, and dress for their future success. This club meets on Wednesdays. Fee: $15


Green Club (Grades 1 - 5)
Sponsor: Teacher TBD

Students will develop and implement strategies to promote energy conservation and a "Green School" environment. This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: None
