Clubs

We are pleased to offer our Calvert Elementary students the following after-school clubs this fall. Clubs will meet for 1-hour from 4:05-5:05 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) beginning October 7th for approximately six weeks. To register for a club, please pick up an enrollment form from the front office, and submit no later than September 27th. Clubs are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Fall Session After-School Clubs

Photography Club (Grades 4 & 5)
Sponsor: Ms. Stavish

This club will introduce basic photogrpahy elements, including subject, rule of thirds, background and photography journal. Club will require participants to bring a digital camera and SD memory card to participate. Ms. Stavish is new to CES and is a photographer. She would love to share her knowledge with our students. This club meets on Mondays. Fee: $20


Musical Theatre Club (Grades 3 - 5)
Sponsors: Mrs. Beeson, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Polko & Mr. Walton

Students will learn about and participate in all aspects of producing the musical production: Aladdin, Jr. Fee: $35 cast

Please note: This club meets on Tuesdays, and runs until the performance in May. Extended rehearsal times will be added after winter break (4:05-5:30 p.m.)


Green Club (Grades 1 - 3)
Sponsor: Mrs. T. Brauns & Mrs. Tippett

Students will become aware of the importance of recycling and making choices that contribute to a cleaner planet, community and school. This club meets on Tuesdays. Fee: $20


No Bake Cooking Club (Grades K - 2)
Sponsors: Mrs. Gray & Mrs. Cross

Make, Take & EAT! Students will explore kitchen tools and prepare snacks and sweet treats. This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: $25 (includes $5 material fee)


Knitting Club (Grades 3 - 5)
Sponsor: Mrs. Dalton

Students will learn the fundamentals of knitting with the goal of completing a scarf or dish cloth. This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: $25 (includes $5 material fee)


Ninja Warrior Club (Grades 4 & 5)
Sponsors: Mr. Banyasz & Mr. Harlow

Students will train in the areas of rope climbing, burpees, jump rope, cargo net, distance running, etc. Competition will be held Thursday, November 14th. This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: $20


Nature Club (Grades 3 - 5)
Sponsor: Mrs. Piccoli

Students will take nature walks on our CES Natrue Trail. Discuss different elements found in nature such as plants, animals, and changes in the season over the 6 weeks, and sketch/write observations. We will also plant milkweed after students learn of its importance to monarch butterflies. This club meets on Thursdays. Fee: $20
